Q

What is the U3A?

A

University of the Third Age        (back to top)

Q

Which university?

A

The university of life, of which we are all members. It is not connected in any way to a school, college or university, although it was when it was first formed, in France.                                      (back to top)

Q

What is the third age?

A

You are not in full time employment, and you have reached adulthood looking towards retirement. With changing life-styles, this can be almost any age. There is no lower limit               (back to top)

Q

What does the U3A offer?

A

A monthly meeting, study, leisure and physical groups. We often have an interesting and informative speaker at our monthly meetings.         (back to top)

Q

How about opportunities to socialise?

A

At our monthly meetings, from 10.00 to 10.30 we drink coffee, eat biscuits, talk (not at the same time of course), socialise and generally get to know one another.                                        (back to top)

Q

What activity groups are there in the Roseland?

A

You can see the current and planned groups on the Activity Groups page.                 (back to top)

Q

Are there activities all the members can take part in?

A

We organise day trips and coach holidays which are open to all members, including those from other U3A's in the area.                                   (back to top)

Q

That sounds exciting. How much does it cost?

A

Would you believe a mere £15 a year (29p a week)? Membership to each group is inclusive – if you have time for them all.                         (back to top)

Q

If I were to join, how could I be of most help?

A

Volunteer your services to help serve refreshments, or put out chairs. You might like to lead your own group, in time.                                         (back to top)
