U3A Roseland and District is a University of the Third Age and member of the Third Age Trust, providing educational, leisure and social activities for people not in full time employment living in and around the rural area of the Roseland Peninsula in the Carrick District of mid Cornwall. We were established in August 2006.

We've tried to make it easy for you to find your way around our site. For a quick overview of how it's organised and what you can find here, we strongly recommend that you take a look at our site map.

We have group activities catering for many interests from creative and craft skills to the life, times and plays of William Shakespeare. For those who enjoy more leisurely socialising, our Luncheon Club may fit the bill. Click here for details of all current groups.

Meetings now take place in a number of the villages in and around the Roseland such as Portscatho, Veryan, Tregony and Probus.

A new Patchwork/Quilting group has been proposed with an inaugural meeting on Thursday 24th July from 10.00 to 12 noon at Probus Village Hall. The group will cater for everyone from complete novices to those with years of experience, so the inaugural meeting is an opportunity for anyone who might be interested to come along and find out more.

Following the success of the first two Computer Learning Group courses which were fully booked, another very basic course started in April on Saturday mornings. Click here for more details and to register your interest in any future sessions. We are also running a short course in Computer Numeracy to give a grounding in spreadsheets amd databases and plan to offer an introduction to PowerPoint in the Autumn.

On Saturday 14th June we held a special Open Day and Cream Tea afternoon at Gerrans Parish Memorial Hall, Portscatho from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.. More than 50 people came along, including a contingent from Stroud U3A who were enjoying a short break in Cornwall.

An enjoyable afternoon was had by all and we hope to repeat the event next year on 13th June 2009 - any fellow U3Aers who might want to plan a visit at that time will be especially welcome.

We currently have 104 full members and if you would also like to be part of this vibrant, energetic and forward thinking organisation, or to get more information, please click here.
